Tukang (作工)

Just the other day when I watched Phua Chukang, I keep thinking that maybe this name is a pun on Bad Worker. Or maybe I am wrong, since Hokkien is not my language. However I know that in Hokkien, Tso Kang (作工) is to work and n Malay Tukang means someone who is expert in doing something:
Tukang bakso - meatball peddler
Tukang nyontek - cheating expert
Tukang kayu - carpenter
Tukang becak - a rickshaw driver

Just a thought though that Tukang and Tso Kang may have related etymology.
